One-Year Anniversary

Stormy Skies

July 9, 2025, marks our first anniversary at this home. We have settled into our forever home and are enjoying the natural surroundings. The photo above was captured on July 5, right after storms had passed through the area. The water level is still a bit high, as evidenced by the tops of the grass blades that are submerged in the water. On that day, it rained a little over 3 inches (76 mm) in one hour. During the rain, the water level was significantly higher than what the photo shows, but thanks to the drainage around the pond, it receded to the level you see above. The photo below, on the other hand, was in the evening, after the movers had unloaded everything.

First Sunset

Both images were captured using my Samsung S23 phone and edited in Lightroom and Luminar Neo.

That is the story behind the shots. If you liked this post, you may also be interested in others featuring Cellpic Sunday, LandscapesSunsetsTeravistaTexas, and Weekend Sky. Until the next time, keep clicking and capturing the beauty your eyes find.

    Congratulations

  9. Egidio,
A year in, and already the place carries stories — storms, sunsets, and stillness stitched together.
The high water, the settling light… nature doing both spectacle and softness in a single breath.
That first sunset feels less like an ending and more like a quiet welcome.
    Beautifully captured.
Congratulations on one year of living the story — not just writing it.
