Light Snow

On January 21, 2025, we woke up to see our area covered with light snow. There was no significant precipitation. The featured photo shows what we saw on the other side of the fence in our backyard.

Why am I thinking about the date? Well, today, I rode my Jeep with the windows and the top down. Tomorrow will be another great day. Things will change on Friday and the weekend. The forecast calls for a major Arctic front with a strong chance of ice and/or freezing rain and temperatures not rising above freezing for two days. We’ll see what happens.

That is the story behind the shot. If you liked this post, you may also be interested in others featuring Landscapes, Teravista, and Texas. Until the next time, keep clicking and capturing the beauty your eyes find.

Beautiful image Egidio. I guess you are braced for some unusual Texas weather. We are still in morning fog, but pleasant afternoons. However, they say rain is coming.

Thank you, Anne. Yes, we are ready for the cold. It should be 2-3 days only. The concern is ice and freezing rain.

Beautiful! Washington needs a good snowy blanket but the arctic blast is heading south and east. Enjoy your warm temps.

A lovely scene. I love the snow, so any snowy scene appeals to me.
I don’t know about the coming storm front though. Sounds very cold to me, so keep safe and warm indoors.

Do you get any birds on the pond in snowy weather? Or have they all flown south for the winter?

Thank you, Vicki. The pond still has some wintering birds, such some ducks, egrets, and herons. The Ring-necked duck come to this area from the north.

  4. Lovely memory, Egidio.
A year ago, soft snow; today, fresh air and Jeep rides—nature always has its twists.
    Lovely click!
