Tyndall Creek

Tyndall Creek— Since September 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of Rocky Mountain National Park, I have been looking at some old photos I have of one of my trips to that park. This photo above is from 2007. A few hikes I have done in several parks are as beautiful as the Emerald Lake hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. The easy hike is only about 3.5 miles roundtrip with little elevation gain (about 650 ft total). What is impressive about this hike is all the beautiful lakes you go by on the way to Emerald Lake. You start at Bear Lake, and from there the trail goes to Nymph Lake with striking pond lilies and occasional views of Longs Peak. Nymph Lake then leads to Dream Lake. If you hit the area at the right time, there will be plenty of wildflowers by Dream Lake. Tyndall Creek is between Emerald Lake and Dream Lake.
