Twilight’s Embrace

Twilight’s Embrace

“The day is done; and slowly from the scene
the stooping sun upgathers his spent shafts,
and puts them back into his golden quiver!”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I take you back again to my hometown sunsets in northeast Brazil, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. The photo was captured on a Samsung Galaxy S III. That 2012 eight-megapixel phone camera preserved the beauty of the setting Sun.

As in previous times I have visited my hometown, a stroll on the beach at the end of the day is a ritual I maintain. The air is cool, and the ocean waves mix in with the sounds of the street and people enjoying the end of another work day.

That is the story behind the shot. If you liked this photo, you might also be interested in other posts featuring Brazil, Cellpic Sunday, Cityscapes, Fortaleza, Sunset, and WeekendSky. Until the next time, keep clicking and capturing the beauty your eyes find.

  6. Egidio, that sunset reads like absolute poetry—both in words and pixels! 🌅📸 An eight-megapixel camera from 2012 captured the magic with remarkable accuracy. Some things age, but beauty is timeless.

Your photo demonstrates that we don’t need 100 MP cameras, especially when we share the images on social media. What a beautiful photo.

Thank you, John. With today’s software, we can salvage quite a bit from old cameras.
