Sprague Lake

— I went back to some of my photos from our vacation last year and saw these very different shots taken at Sprague Lake, Rocky Mountain NP. As I had mentioned in my previous entry for this location, we ended up going back to this lake because it was very scenic and also because of storms in the area. Generally, the storms we experienced were brief and intense. Just as you look at the clouds in the shot above, you can see how heavy they looked. They were also moving very fast and presented us with the shot below thirty-five minutes later. I love the mood in the shot above, and especially, that light on the right-side of the frame. Of course, in the photo below, the tranquility shown in the water is one reason why going back to Sprague Lake was always very pleasing.
