I was enjoying a leisure bike ride two days before Christmas and headed to the area where two universities house satellite branches from their primary campus locations. Texas A&M University and Texas State University have campuses in Round Rock. For this visit, I will focus on Texas State University.
I opened the post with the Avery Building, but that was not really the main attraction. What I like about this small campus (only about 2,200 students) is the beautiful natural setting created near the main building. There is a small pond attracting wildlife with a trail around it. Students and visitors can also find benches to rest in a quiet setting. On that late afternoon, I took advantage of the setting sun and warm colors around me.
Although I captured some images with my regular camera, the photos here were taken with my Samsung S23 cell phone.
That is the story behind the shots. If you liked these photos, you might also be interested in other posts featuring Cellpic Sunday, Fall Foliage, Landscapes, Round Rock, and Texas. Until the next time, keep clicking and capturing the beauty your eyes find.

That setting would be inspiring – perfect for a university.

Thanks, Vicki. The colors get such an interesting tone at that time of day.

I’m always surprised at how careful they planned it. Thanks, John.
