Besides providing water to thousands of people in Central Texas and being a significant tributary of the Colorado River, the Pedernales River offers plenty of recreational opportunities and fosters a sensitive and diverse ecosystem. Several rare plant species and dozens of fish inhabit the river and its banks. The river also has a significant historical place in former US President Lyndon Johnson’s life, whose ranch was on its margins.
This photo shows the swimming area at the Pedernales Falls State Park. After hiking the Wolf Mountain trail earlier that day, a friend and I caught the last sunlight by the river. I photographed it with a Samsung S21 cell phone back in 2022.
That is the story behind the shot. If you liked this photo, you might also be interested in other posts featuring Cellpic Sunday, Landscapes, Parks, Pedernales Falls SP, Pedernales River, Sunset, and Texas. Until the next time, keep clicking and capturing the beauty your eyes find.
