New Home

New home’s backyard across the pond

New home! If you look at the URL for this site, you will see a difference. It used to be egidio.photography, but because of ongoing issues with my WP installation — including the inability to get pingbacks — I have now redirected all files to this new URL: throughbrazilianeyes.com. Is it foolproof? Only time will tell. After extensive testing, it seems like everything is working well. If you were a previous subscriber to egidio.photography, you will continue getting updates whenever I make a new post. You do not need to do anything.

A few weeks ago, I rode my bike in the new neighborhood where we will live starting July 9. Right behind our house, there is this pond. I will enjoy capturing wildlife images from our dining room and backyard patio. Here are two dragonflies I photographed by the pond.

Please remember that I will be off for a few days now without internet as we move to our new home. I will return for the next Lens-Artists challenge on July 13, when Leanne will present her Tourist Attractions challenge. My responses until then will be minimal at best.

Thank you for your support. I leave you with John Ruskin’s words: “Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty.” All you need to do is have your camera to capture that beauty and share it with us.

Thank you so much, Jo. We are looking forward to the new home. It’ll be wonderful to have everything on a single floor and no steps. 🙂

Our home here is multi-level. So, we are being pro-active about the steps. Although we don’t have any problems with mobility, we know that as we age, it’ll be nice to be on a single-level home. Thanks.

dragonflies are so amazing, but I find them very hard to photograph. Sorry you had to move, but I get the problems.

Thanks, Leanne. I like when the dragonflies land on a stick or any other surface. It makes it easier to photograph them.

The subscription definitely transferred OK as that’s how I came to this post 🙂 It looks like you’re moving to a lovely spot, especially having this pond so near your home. I hope it all goes smoothly!

Anne, that backyard is a dream. I’ll continue to be able to photograph birds from our dining room, and now there’ll be the pond for other wildlife. Thank you so much.

Rebecca, many thanks for the well wishes! I really appreciate it. I wish I could snap my fingers and get everything unboxed. We are moving slowly now that we’re settled here. Thanks again.

The unboxing can take quite a bit of time. Once you have a kitchen, bedroom and the toiletries in the bathroom, it starts to come together and be livable.
