Last Surf

When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the Creator
Mahatma Gandhi

Admiring the sunset is a local pastime in Fortaleza, Brazil. This shot was taken at Ponte dos Ingleses. The views there are often stunning. The silvery reflections on the ocean as surfers try to catch the last waves of the day made this photo an excellent choice for monochrome. What do you think?

Also captured at the exact location as the first image, I took advantage of the dark tones and kept the original color image as is; no monochrome conversion. I only played with lights and shadows, whites and blacks, and added more texture to the sea.

That is the story behind the shots.
