Dream Lake

— Continuing a hike on the lakes trail (as I call it), just past Nymph Lake (Rocky Mountain NP), you come up to this beautiful setting at Dream Lake a subalpine lake. The roundtrip hike to this location is only 2.2 miles (3.5 km). With an elevation gain of about 400 ft (122 m), this is an easy hike that offers beautiful scenery. Those two mountains seen in the shot are Hallett Peak (12,713 feet / 3,875 m) on the left and Flattop Mountain (12,324 feet / 3,756 m). In between the two mountains is the Tyndall Gorge, and on the very top of the saddle is the Tyndall Glacier, not visible this time. On our return hike at the end of the day, we noticed a group of people gathering around this lake. They were setting up a wedding ceremony. As for the guy on the paddle board seen above, he succeeded. Never once did he fall in those cold waters.
