Buzzin’ around

— Yet another walk through my neighborhood nature trail proved to be a joy. I am often looking for landscape shots, as several of my photos here show, but lately with home confinement and not much travel, I have been exploring the macro world of insects, bees, and flowers. Earlier this month (May 2020), I was walking around looking for wildflowers to see what is in season. The Copperfield Nature Trail is part of the Walnut Creek greenbelt. Although very short (3.5 miles / 5.6 km), the trail actually has two sections that are divided by Shropshire Blvd. Most people tend to use the section north of that street because it is more accessible, has a couple of ponds, and is more developed, including a playground near Yager Lane. However, the southern section of the trail is by far the most scenic since you go through a section along Walnut Creek. The photos here were taken near the ponds. I was just experimenting with my new camera and lenses to familiarize myself with everything. The beauty of photographing wildflowers goes beyond the flowers themselves. A few times, after I get home and go through my shots, I have discovered things I had not quite noticed while making the photo. For this particular case, I had seen the bee around these flowers. So, my intent was really to photograph the bee. Here are a couple of the results.
