— Anyone who visits Yosemite National Park is likely familiar with a few hikes that involve some of the park’s famous waterfalls. You have the Mist Trail leading up to Vernal Falls and Nevada Fall. There are also the Lower Yosemite Falls, Bridalveil Fall, and Illilouette Falls, just to name three others. However, not in everyone’s radar is Chilnualna Falls. You will have to venture out of the Yosemite Valley in order to experience this beautiful series of waterfalls and wading ponds. Because of the terrain, there is really no clear way to see the falls in its entirety. It is a strenuous trail if you do the entire 8.4-mile (13.5 km) roundtrip, but if you just check out the first section of the trail, you’ll run into views such as the photos here. The trail is located closer to the south entrance of the park, near Wawona.
