Guadalupe Mountains National Park is a remote park in northwest Texas, near the New Mexico border and Carlsbad Caverns National Park. The park offers excellent backcountry and backpacking opportunities, with over 80 miles (128 km) of hiking trails. McKittrick Canyon is a popular trail in the park, especially in the fall, when the colors are at their peak.

Texas’s highest peak is also located in the park. Guadalupe Peak rises 8,751 feet (2,667 meters. In the photo above, another park landmark is El Capitán. Its elevation is 8,085 feet (2,464 m) above sea level. El Capitan is the eighth-highest peak in Texas.
That is the story behind the shots. If you liked this post, you may also be interested in others featuring Guadalupe Mountains, Guadalupe Mountains NP, Landscapes, National Parks, and Texas. Until the next time, keep clicking and capturing the beauty your eyes find.

The way the light shades from brighter at the left to darker at the right makes your view of El Capitán unique.

Thanks, Sarah. I had to add textures and an effect to make the image more interesting. It was a very old image with blown highlights.
