Hot Summer Nights

Then followed that beautiful season… Summer….
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light;
and the landscape lay as if new
created in all the freshness of childhood.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Every day, we look out our dining room window and are mesmerized by nature’s creation. It is a blessing to witness another dazzling color palette every day. This was the sunset on a hot August summer evening. Although we have only lived here six months, I have captured many sunsets with this view. Each is different.

For this Cellpic Sunday, I used my Samsung S23 phone without hesitation and captured the last light rays in the photo above. It was edited using my usual photo applications and this typical workflow:

  1. Topaz Photo AI takes care of any noise. I like using that first, so I don’t add any noise during my edits if it is present.
  2. Then, I send the image to Photoshop to set levels to my liking. If there are any major distractions, I may use the remove tool, too.
  3. Back in Lightroom, I use all basic and localized edits. The color mixer point color is very powerful in bringing out luminosity in specific areas and colors.
  4. Finally, if needed, Luminar Neo wraps up with enhancing and localized blurring. I prefer Luminar Neo’s blur tool for its versatility and ease of use.

That is the story behind the shot. If you liked this photo, you might also be interested in other posts featuring Cellpic Sunday, Landscapes, Sunset, Teravista, Texas. Until the next time, keep clicking and capturing the beauty your eyes find.

    You’re much more dedicated and competent with your edits than I am Egidio. All I do is use the Google editor for some basic color, contrast, and lighting tweaks.

      Thanks, John. Lately, the sunsets here have been nothing than extraordinary, even when there are no clouds in the sky. The colors are beautiful.

I'd love hearing back from you. Let me know if you have any questions or something is not working on the site.
